Interesting Facts
"Le Fort de Latour" is the second, so-called "junior" wine of Chateau Latour, which is a slightly lighter version of its older "brother", and is considered the best "second" wine of Bordeaux. This wine is produced from a section of the Petit Bataille vineyard that was empty for many years until the mid-20th century, when it was replanted with vines, as well as with the addition of grapes from young vines that are less than 12 years old from the main vineyard. The proportion of grape varieties in the blend varies slightly from year to year, but Cabernet Sauvignon is always the dominant component.
