Interesting Facts
Chateau Fombrauge is made from two grape varieties - Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which are harvested from vines that are 30 years old. The grapes, which have reached optimal ripeness, are hand-picked, carried in trays, the berries are separated from the combs and sorted. The berries are then loaded into small wooden containers, where vinification takes place with constant pijage. After this, the wine is poured by gravity, without the use of pumps, into French oak barrels, 50% of which are new. In them, the wine is aged for 18 to 20 months under controlled temperature conditions.
