Interesting Facts
Cabernet Franc grapes are harvested from the estate's own vineyards at Finca Libertad, Mendoza Upper River Bank, Cruz de Piedra, and Maipu (850 meters above sea level). The old vines were planted by Tiburcio Benegas in 1899. Harvesting takes place in the second half of April. Cold maceration is followed by fermentation at 25 degrees Celsius. Post-fermentation maceration lasts 20 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak (500 liters). The wine is aged there for 18 months, followed by an additional 12 months in bottles before release. The potential is 15-20 years.
