Interesting Facts
The wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes grown on the estate’s 62-hectare vineyard in the heart of the commune of Pauillac. The climate is cool and moderately humid, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. The vines, which average 39 years old, are grown on the beautiful Günzian ridges of pebbles, gravel and clay. The harvest is manual. At the winery, the grapes are sorted again on the sorting table. Maceration and fermentation at a strictly controlled temperature in steel vats follow, a process that takes about 15-20 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new.
