Château Palmer is located in the Margaux appellation in the Bordeaux region. The wine produced here is one of fourteen wines that earned the Troisiemes Crus qualification in the famous Medoc Wine Classification of 1885. In addition, Chateau Palmer wine is considered one of the two most popular wines in this class. In 2004, the shareholders of Chateau Palmer nominated the young oenologist Thomas Duru for the position of managing director. Duru already had experience in California and Italy, and returning to his homeland in Bordeaux, he was very excited about the work ahead. The shareholders suggested that he conduct a "quiet" revolution at Chateau Palmer, gradually improving the quality of production, responding to market demands, while not forgetting to maintain traditions.
