In Greek mythology, there is a legend according to which the forest nymph Echo, who liked to poke her nose into other people's business, distracted Hera with all sorts of stories while Zeus was having fun in the forest with the nymphs. When Hera found out about everything, her anger was terrible: Echo lost the ability to speak, and could only repeat what her interlocutor said.
