In the early 1990s, the Guibert family set themselves a new challenge: the creation of a range of "approachable" wines, enjoyable and exciting to drink. In their search for a new terroir, they discovered an exceptional “amphitheatre” near the town of Sète. This led to a long and fruitful partnership between Mas de Daumas Gassac and the vinegrowers from this terroir. It was then that the Moulin de Gassac range was born, with the Mas de Daumas Gassac hallmark. The first wines were produced in 1991, the result of a plot-by-plot selection from thirty local vinegrowers. For more than 25 years, this authentic approach, with involvement on a daily basis, has inspired us in an ongoing quest to obtain the best possible quality from the vines of this area. Now covering an area of 250 hectares, all the plots are subject to a rigorous set of specifications, and the Mas de Daumas Gassac’s team is present on site throughout the year to manage production from vineyard management to bottling.
