Famille Icard

For several centuries since 1799, the Icard family, owners of the Chateau de l’Orangerie, have lived in a small village in the Entre-Deux-Mers region. Thanks to the hard work and initiative of winemakers, this area has gained worldwide recognition. Today, Jean-Christophe Icart, like his ancestors, follows the concept of heritage of tradition, but at the same time strives to bring originality to the wine production process. He began restoring the Chateau de l'Orangerie estate, named after the ancient greenhouse where orange trees did not wither even in winter frosts. The local climate is characterized by fairly high humidity and a significant amount of sunlight, which guarantees a long, mild, velvety season, favorable for the ripening of the vines. The area of the vineyards is about 115 hectares.
