La Maison Jean Loron

The history of the estate began about 300 years ago, in the Chénas district, in the heart of the Beaujolais slopes. Unlike his parents, who were engaged in various types of farming, Jean Loron decided to dedicate himself entirely to winemaking. This was the beginning of the history of the family business. Almost a century later, in 1981, his grandson Jean-Marie, aware of the potential of the wines, decided to establish a business in Pontanevaux. Finally, in 2016, the reins were passed from Xavier Barbet, the eighth generation of the Loron Family, to Philippe Bardet, a great connoisseur of Burgundy, born in Beaujolais. This was a turning point for the estate, which had always looked only forward.
