Speyside Distillers Company Ltd
Speyside Distillers is one of the smallest whiskey distilleries in Scotland, located on the banks of the River Tromie, one of the tributaries of the Spey. The water here is considered to have the best qualities for making high-quality whiskey.
The company was founded in 1990 by George Christie. Back in 1956, Christie purchased a small plot of land near the village of Drumguish, after which one of the single malt whiskeys was later named. Since 1710, there was a barley mill here, the water mill of which is still used in the whiskey production process. Each stage of production and sales of products is carefully controlled. Since 2012, the distillery has been owned by the Harvey family from Edinburgh.
The Speyside distillery produces single highland malt whiskies such as Speyside, Glentromie, Great Glen and Drumguish. It also produces raw materials for further blending of different types of whisky of shorter maturation.
This distillery produces several world-famous blended whiskies, the most popular of which is Scottish Prince.
The master blender at Speyside Distillers, Robert Scott, has been carefully selecting casks of single malt whiskies from various Scottish distilleries for a long time. Today, these drinks are bottled as they mature (while maintaining their “cask strength”) and sold under the Robert Scott’s Selection brand.
