Château La Tour de By

The first mentions of Château La Tour de Bis date back to 1700. The castle got its name from the huge tower (from French "la tour" - tower) and the name of the territorial part of the Medoc region - Bi. In 1876 the picturesque Chateau was renovated. The modern history of Château La Tour de Bie begins in 1965, when the Page family, with two more families (Lapalu and Caillou), acquired the land of the estate. In 1999, Mark Page bought out two-thirds of the estate from co-owners and became the sole manager of the estate. The vineyards of Chateau La Tour de By occupy 74 hectares, where varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot are grown. The average age of the vines is 45 years. The farm practices ecological methods of viticulture, which involve minimizing the use of chemicals and pesticides. Today Chateau La Tour de Bis is one of the leading wineries in the Medoc region and produces five wines - four reds and a rosé.
