Aguna

The Aguna Wine Cellar was built in 1882 in the village of Gurjaani, in the Kakheti wine region, by the Naneishvili brothers (Georgiy, Zakhariy, Igor, and Pachia). Until the 1930s, it was a family cellar, producing up to 150 tons of wine, primarily from Saperavi, Mtsvane, and Rkatsiteli grapes.
Since the 1930s, the cellar has been state-owned, continuing to bottle wine until the 1990s. In 2005, a group of investors acquired and restored the cellar, returning the building to its original appearance. Along with traditional Georgian kvevri jugs, the cellar has been equipped with modern Vello equipment.
The wines are produced from the finest grape varieties from their own vineyards in the Mukuzani region of Kakheti. The wine is aged at a special temperature, requiring constant quality control. The production of classic wines is carried out through an innovative approach and oversight by the company's chief technologist, renowned winemaker, permanent member of the Academy of Viticulture, and Doctor of Technical Sciences, Gaga Buishvili. Highly qualified specialists, modern equipment, and high-quality grapes determine the uniqueness of the company's wines. Aguna produces both traditional Kakhetian and European-style wines.

Aguna was recognized as a Brand of Georgia for two consecutive years, in 2021 and 2022.
