Marcalberto
The small family-run company MARCALBERTO was born in the heart of Santo Stefano Belbo, and shares a common spirit with some of the small houses of sparkling wine producers in Champagne. In the heart of the Langhe de' Asti, a perhaps risky choice was made: specializing in the production of sparkling wines using the "classic method." These "white lands," characterized by marl-calcareous soils unique in the world, provide ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Calosso, Cossano Belbo, Santo Stefano Belbo, and Loazzolo. The average altitude ranges from 300 to 650 meters, and the soil composition is marl-calcareous. The cellar, created in an old house built in the late 19th century, is made of stone and tuff; It houses a room for aging wine in small wooden barrels, as well as 90,000 bottles.
