La Selve
Château de la Selve is a family-owned winery located in the southern Ardèche department of France, in the southern Rhône Valley. The history of the castle itself begins in the 13th century: initially a fortified manor house, then a hunting lodge for the Dukes of Joyeuse, the property eventually became a winemaking estate. The estate's current development began in 2002 under the leadership of Benoît and Florence Chazallon.
Today, Château de la Selve's vineyards cover approximately 44 hectares. The estate practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, paying particular attention to maintaining healthy soils and maximizing the expression of the terroir. The grape varieties used in production are primarily indigenous to the region: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Viognier, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
