Lucano

In 1894, Pasquale Vena from the small village of Pisticci in Basilicata created the secret recipe for the bitter in the back room of his bakery. Already in 1900, Pasquale Vena's company became the official supplier of the Royal House of Savoy and the liqueur became famous throughout Italy. Due to the Second World War and the shortage of raw materials, production was stopped. In 1950, it was resumed thanks to the hard work of the founder's sons - Giuseppe and Leonardo. A true passion for Amaro has been passed down from generation to generation, and today the founder's grandson Pasquale, his wife Rosestella and their children - Leonardo, Francesco and Letizia, work with the same determination that previously led Lucano to success.
