Masia de la Roqua

Masia de la Roqua is a family winery located in an old mansion from the 12th century, the name of which translates as "farmhouse on top of a cliff". The Kamps family, the owners of the mansion, were engaged in winemaking back in the 16th century, according to the entry in the property register. At the moment, the owner of the farm is John Kamps. John managed to work in two of the most famous wine regions - Bordeaux and Burgundy, in the prestigious wineries Jean-Pierre Moueix and Domaine Pierre Morey and in 2012 he gave new life to Masia de la Roqua, starting to produce his own wine, following the principles of natural winemaking. And, of course, his first wine was 100% Sumoll variety from old vineyards.

Masia de la Roqua is a producer of natural wine, which works in an organic approach, the vineyards have an eco-certificate. “My goal is to reflect as much of the Garraf mountain range’s uniqueness as possible in the wine, so I prefer to interfere as little as possible in the process, allowing the terroir to express itself in the grapes.” - Jot Camps.
