Weingut Christ

Family traditions, passed down from generation to generation for 400 years, and a winemaking philosophy, where a special place is given to love for nature, are the cornerstones in the creation of wines by Weingut Christ. The vineyards of the estate, growing on the gentle slope of Bissamberg with a southern exposure, are simultaneously located in five different climatic zones, which ensures ideal ripening of the berries. Their soils range from alluvial to terraced with a generous gravel content, from well-drained calcareous to shale.

The Weingut Christ winemakers, led by the chief oenologist, Rainer Christ, do not use a special technique for pumping the wort, they believe that in order to make good wine, the juice must drain into the tanks under the influence of its own gravity. For aging wines, the manufacturer uses large neutral and oak barrels, complementing them with stainless steel containers. Weingut Christ also hosts a restored old wine tavern where wine lovers can enjoy the idyllic atmosphere and local culinary delights from massive wooden tables.
