Armagnac Castarede

History of the trading house Castared began in 1832. Baron Georges Osman, who came from a German family, became the manager of a small town called Nerak in the north of Gascony. At that time, the waterway was the most economically efficient, and since the town was located a few steps from the navigable Baise River, Georges Haussmann decided to use this advantage to organize the armagnac trade.

This is how the first merchant house Castarede appeared, which was named after the owners. After some time, the baron left Gascony, but the house did not stop its work and "lived" to this day.

For the sixth generation of the Castarede family, represented by Florence Castarede, pleases the whole world with unsurpassed armagnacs. No crises can affect the well—being of the company, because the reputation of products is the most important thing for the house of Castared. Unique cellars with more than a century of age, located on the banks of the Baze River, make a significant contribution to the quality of drinks: it is an ideal place for the maturation of slightly rough and harsh alcohol from armagnac alambic. Twenty years ago, the family acquired the Chateau de Maniban estate and became the owners of 20 hectares of magnificent vineyards.
