The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful suavity , tension, straightness as well as a good freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, plum, black cherry and ripe, fleshy redcurrant combined with slight hints of nutmeg, leather as well as dicreet hints of tobacco and of salinity in the background. Tannins are well-built.
Aroma:
The nose is elegant and powerfull with a fine intensity. It reveals notes of bakc cherrry, violet plum and small notes of liquorice associated with fine touches of flowers as well as a hint of leather.
Gastronomy:
It is a wine that matches well with pasta dishes (tajarin with ragu, ravioli del plin) but it is also very common to enjoy this wine throughout the entire meal.
Interesting Facts
To create a dry red wine Brezza Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Barbera grapes from vines of 1942 and 1991 are used, growing on loamy soils at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. Vineyards have southeast and west exposure. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 2 years in Slavonian oak barrels.
