Interesting Facts
A rare example of a Carricante wine harvested outside the Etna DOC appellation. It originates from the area around the town of Chiaromonte Gulfi in southwestern Sicily. The vines grow on limestone and marl soil. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, ranging from 500 to 2,500 liters. The wine is then aged there for 12 months (part of which is aged in steel). The wine develops beautifully in the bottle and can demonstrate its potential for 7-10 years from the vintage.
