Interesting Facts
The wine is named after the feast of St. James the Great. Every year on July 25th, the Klapotetze windmills are built to celebrate the feast, to keep the birds away from the grapes. The Jakobi label depicts an old agricultural calendar. This type of calendar was originally designed for illiterate people and remains part of the cultural heritage of Styria. The label depicts the most influential events of the year using oenological symbols. The grapes are hand-picked. After a short maceration, the must is fermented in steel under strict temperature control. The wine is aged in steel on the lees for 5 months.
