This Pinot Noir comes from the northern slopes of the Haut Hemel en Aarde valley. An organic vineyard is filled with round pebbles on the soil surface and decomposed granite supporting it. The name Ignis (Latin for “fire”) suggests that granite is an igneous rock formation, “from fire to stone.” The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (228 liters).
