Interesting Facts
Once upon a time, the Franschhoek Valley was a wild place – wolves roamed here and even today you can find old traps in the forests. Today, the mountains are still home to indigenous animals, including the majestic leopard. However, no evidence has been found that wolves exist. That is why the winemakers at Boekenhoutskloof created the Wolftrap series of wines to evoke the mysteries and legends of days gone by. After separate fermentation, some of the wine was aged in French barriques for 9 months.
