Interesting Facts
"Fidelia" is the name of a villa in a picturesque park near the winery in Spello, whose history dates back to the 16th century. Today Villa Fidelia acts as a venue for concerts and other cultural events. Like other Sportoletti wines, "Villa Fidelia" Rosso was created with the participation of the famous oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. For the production of wine, grapes of the varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are used, harvested from vines aged 17-18 years. The vineyard is located in a hilly area at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. Vineyard soils - sandy, containing a very porous layer of marine lime-sand deposits. The planting density of vines is 6,000 plants per hectare. Merlot is harvested in the first days of September, Cabernet is harvested from the vines in mid-September.
