Sportoletti

The Sportoletti family has been involved in agriculture and viticulture in Umbria for generations. In the late 1970s, brothers Ernesto and Remo Sportoletti decided to focus exclusively on winemaking, which they had learned from their father, Vittorio Sportoletti. It was then that they launched the first thousand bottles under their own label. Since then, the brothers have done a tremendous job in search of the perfect balance between innovation and tradition and the ability to fully realize the potential of their terroir - the hills of Spello and Assisi. It is on these hills that the family's vineyards are located, which today occupy 20 hectares. The brothers have gradually renewed the vineyards, which has led to more rational viticulture and improved quality. Thanks to successful plant selection and the implementation of the "cordon" system, the number of buds and therefore the yield of the plants are controlled. The company also produces organic olive oil. Their beautiful grove of 2,500 olive trees is located at an altitude of about 500 meters on the slopes of Monte Subasio. The Sportoletti winery produces four wines: "Assisi" Rosso, "Assisi" Grechetto, "Villa Fidelia" Bianco, "Villa Fidelia" Rosso. Their production volume in the last ten years has been about 200,000 bottles per year.
