Château Le Puy

The Amoraux family owns Château Le Puy and has been involved in winemaking since 1610. The main part of the chateau was rebuilt in 1832, but the old part of the castle, dating back to the 17th century, has been preserved to this day. The chateau is located on a rocky plateau with a magnificent view of the Dordogne River valley. This area was once nicknamed "marvelous hills" for the excellent wines produced here. Around the chateau there are ruins of a Gallo-Roman settlement, and in prehistoric times it was believed to be a center for the production of stone cutting tools.

The vineyards of Chateau Le Puy occupy the highest point in the Gironde department. They are three separate plots, with a total area of 51 hectares on the same rocky plateau. The chateau practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, just as our ancestors did - without artificial fertilizers and chemicals. The winery also uses only natural vinification methods, excluding the use of sugar and additional yeast strains. Before bottling, the wines of Chateau Le Puy are not filtered, the bottles are corked and sealed with sealing wax.
