Kindzmarauli

The company's history dates back to 1533, when the King of Kakheti Levan founded a traditional wine cellar "marani" on the territory of the historical Kvareli. In 1924, the Soviet government of Georgia decided to build a grape processing center "Red Marani" on the site of the old cellar, which would later become the Kindzmarauli winery. In 1992, the first joint-stock company in independent Georgia, "Tears of the Vine", was founded on the basis of the Kindzmarauli winery, which since 1996 has been called "Kindzmarauli Corporation".

JSC Kindzmarauli Corporation owns 160 hectares of vineyards in the historical territories of Kvareli and Napareuli. Local varieties such as Saperavi, Kisi, Mtsvane, Aleksandrouli and Rkatsiteli are grown in the vineyards. The uniqueness of the vineyards is expressed in their location, where the southern ridge of the Caucasus, the Duruji and Alazani rivers create unique conditions and microclimate for obtaining top-quality wines.

One of the determining factors of the uniqueness of the wines is the high content of black shale, which distinguishes local vineyards even from the vineyards bordering them. The Duruji Veli wine cellar produces alcoholic beverages of grape origin - up to forty names, including twenty types of wine, and the same number of names of premium wine brands and traditional Kakhetian chacha.
