Melifera

Melifera is a brand dedicated to protecting biodiversity, in particular the black bee Apis Melifera, from which it takes its name. In 2019, Christophe Amigorena, director of a company specializing in the production of cosmetics, having gained valuable knowledge about the medicinal properties of immortelle, joined forces with two other business partners to create I.Distilling & Co to create the first organic gin distilled from the flowers of this plant. The company takes development seriously, planting its own organic immortelle flower garden, since collecting wild flowers from the dunes is illegal, and supporting research to protect local bees. The company does not have its own production facilities, but collaborates with the SVE distillery in Charente-Maritime to create its drinks. In 2023, Melifera gin was awarded a gold medal in the Spirits Selection category at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
