Barista

The Barista brand was born in 2009 with the joint cooperation of the country's leading wine trading company, Vinimark, and the winemaker of the Val de Vie estate, Bertus Furi. Bertus Furi was already popular at that time, because. he was the founding father of the Pinotage coffee style, which was first launched on the market in 2001. The concept of the brand was quite simple, the wine was made in a certain way according to a certain recipe, which eventually showed a bright coffee component in the wine.

The recipe for making wine consisted of the following components: granite-gravel soils, known in South Africa under the name "Coffestone"; rather hot wine-growing area, with a long period of grape ripening; variety Pinotage, which was harvested by hand in an already slightly dried state, according to the so-called. the "appasimento" method; the use of a certain type of yeast, which helps to reveal coffee and smoked shades in wine; heavily burnt oak barrel.

The simplicity of the concept of the Barista brand, the accessible, easily guessed and commercially successful style of the wine itself, coupled with the laconic and minimalist design of the label, helped this brand to become world-wide popular and recognizable, at the same time being quite a serious wine.
