Chardonnay Barista
Interesting Facts
The first vintage of this white wine under the popular brand of Barista was produced in 2013. From the very first day, it was decided to create a balanced blend of two wine regions of South Africa: Robertson and Elgin, in a proportion of 50/50. Chardonnay from the sunny Robertson region was harvested at optimum maturity and fermented and aged in oak barrels of the 2nd passage for 8 months. Chardonnay from Elgin was harvested earlier and underwent fermentation and short-term aging in steel tanks to maintain freshness in the final blend. Chardonnay from the Robertson region brings bright notes of yellow fruit to the wine, and a share of Chardonnay from Elgin makes the wine fresher and stronger, increasing the overall balance of the wine and the level of acidity.
