Craven

Craven is one of the most exciting wine projects in South Africa. It is part of an ongoing program to discover the best vineyards in Stellenbosch. The key people behind the estate, Mick and Janine Craven, met in 2007 while working at a winery in Sonoma during the harvest. They decided to return to Janine’s homeland of Stellenbosch in 2011 to put their experiences to use and establish Craven Wines.

2014 was their first commercial harvest. They quickly established themselves as Stellenbosch revolutionaries and became key members of the Zoo Biscuits collective. The wines are made from single vineyard grapes, with maximum expression of the terroir. The wines are unfiltered and only old oak barrels are used for ageing.
