Interesting Facts

Aleatico Brut is a refreshing pink sparkling wine made from the rare Aleatico grape. The grape’s Muscat-like aromas reveal its close relationship with Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains, of which it was once considered the parent or miracle worker. DNA testing has also shown close ties to Lacrima and Sangiovese. Aleatico has proven itself to be a world traveler, and in addition to being found on the French island of Corsica, it is grown in Australia, the United States, Chile, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and, of course, Crimea. Hand-picking ensures that only quality, ripe grapes make it into the fermentation tanks. Traditional vinification in steel tanks at controlled temperatures is followed by a secondary fermentation, which transforms the base wine into a refreshing sparkling wine.
