Lessini Durello DOC, 733 Brut bianco
Interesting Facts
The Lessini Mountains stretch north from Verona to the Alps. They reach a height of 1700 meters above sea level, and the alpine climate is already beginning to be felt here. In the mountains of Lessini, limestone and red marble have long been mined for the construction of Verona and the surrounding cities. This is where the autochthonous variety Durella comes from, the first mention of which dates back to the 13th century. The variety has a very tough skin, for which he received such a name ("duro" in Italian means "hard, hard"). Durella has a high acidity, low alcohol content, elegant aromas of white flowers, green apples and lemon. The variety easily oxidizes and changes color, so great effort is required when working with it. Under the name Lessini Durello DOC exclusively sparkling wines are produced.
