Interesting Facts
Château de Nancelle was built by Mr. Guigue de Champvent in the mid-19th century. The chapel, whose bell tower was once three stories high, was built by the Cluny monks between the 11th and 12th centuries. During the French Revolution, the village of Nancelle was united with that of Saint-Sorlin and has since been renamed La Roche-Vineuse. Today, Nancelle is the name of a hamlet.<BR>In the northern Saône-et-Loire department, south of the Côte de Beaune, the estate’s vineyards, which were replanted over 25 years ago, are located in the hamlet of Nancelle on a south-west facing slope.
