Interesting Facts
The Sagrantino variety is rich in polyphenols, which are very powerful antioxidants. Its cultivation began with the first Franciscan monks, who used the variety for religious ceremonies, as the name suggests (from the Latin "sacer": holy, sacred). Vinification takes place in French oak vats. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.
