Interesting Facts
Ungeheuer of Forst is one of the most famous vineyards in Germany. Local Riesling was bottled at the opening ceremony of the Suez Canal in Egypt in 1869. The soil is sandstone with an ancient coral reef and volcanic basalt on top. The wine is fermented and aged in 500 liter oak barrels for 10 months.
