Christian Clerget

The Clerget estate's vineyards (6 ha) stretch from Vosne-Romanée to Morey-Saint-Denis. Quite large plots produce 8 different wines. The family has been involved in the vineyards for 12 generations. Christian currently heads the estate, but his daughter Justine is also gradually learning how to work in the winery and vineyards. The grapes are selected both in the winery and in the vineyards. Usually the stems are removed completely, but sometimes Christian may leave a few ripe whole bunches for fermentation. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, after which the must flows by gravity into the cellar for aging (opened only recently in 1988).
