Overgaauw

Overgaau is located at an altitude of 100 to 220 meters above sea level, amidst the hilly landscape of Stellenbosch Kloof. The hillsides are covered with Hutton and Clovelly soils - deep, well-drained and weathered granites. The lower areas are represented by loamy, gravelly soils. The 20 hectares of vineyards are planted from east to west and face south and southwest – towards the Atlantic Ocean just 15 km away. Cool afternoon breezes blow in from the ocean, keeping extreme summer temperatures at bay.

The farm is now managed by David, who is the fourth generation of the Van Velden family.
