Interesting Facts
Brunello from Fuligni is the result of meticulous selection—so meticulous that the estate decided not to produce it in difficult years (for example, 1972, 1976, 2002). The Sangiovese grapes are hand-harvested in late September. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maceration on the lees lasts 20 days. Aging takes place for 2-3 months in stainless steel and 24-36 months in Slavonian oak (30-45 hectolitres) and Allier oak (5-7.5 hectolitres). The wine then undergoes an additional six months of bottle aging before release.
