Interesting Facts
Chardonnay Vriesenhof is produced using unique clones of the variety, refined over many years, and reflects a classical approach to winemaking. The grapes are pressed in whole bunches without destemming. The juice is allowed to sit overnight before fermentation. During the active stage of fermentation, after about two days, the wine is poured into barrels to complete fermentation. The wine is aged in French oak, 50% new and 50% 2nd and 3rd filling barrels, for 11 months.
