Interesting Facts
Sangiovese is the hallmark of Tuscany. This is a record variety. More DOCG wines are produced from Sangiovese than from any other variety. Half of the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 2 years, the other half is aged in French barriques for a year and then stored in neutral containers. At the end of aging, all wines are mixed and bottled. After bottling, the wines rest in bottles for another 3 months before going on sale.
