Interesting Facts
Kottable (from the French "Kottabos") refers to the ancient Greek wine tradition, during symposiums, participants would pour the sediment of their wine into a pool. The vineyard is located between the Wintzenheim and Turckheim zones. These are areas with flat alluvial deposits rich in clay. The soil mainly consists of sand, pebbles and loess plates. Incredibly thin, "sensual" wines are born here, reflecting the elegant side of the Riesling variety. The estate adheres to a biodynamic approach to wine production, which helps to reflect the local terroir in the glass as much as possible. Excerpt wine takes place in old hundred-year-old oak barrels for 4-8 months.
