The wine is named after Bartholomew, the patron saint of winemakers. Welschriesling is one of the most traditional grape varieties in Styria. The berries are hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed. Slow, controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel. Before bottling, the wine is aged in steel on fine lees for 6 months.
