Diemersdal
The estate was founded in 1698 and is one of the oldest continuously operating wine farms in South Africa. Records from 1702 have survived showing winemaking equipment and seven casks of wine at Dimersdal. Since 1885, the farm has been in the hands of the Lowe family. Tees Lowe, current owner and cellar master, belongs to the 6th generation.
The winery is located in the Durbanville Valley - part of the Cape Town wine region. The cool climate due to the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean makes it possible to produce here deep and complex wines with great potential. All of the estate's vineyards are NOT irrigated (dryland agriculture plays a key role in Durbanville).
