Interesting Facts
The Le Petit Voyage line of wines was released in 2020 as a tribute to authentic grape varieties and bold winemaking techniques. This wine is made from Criola, a grape brought to South America by the Spanish in the 16th century. Legend has it that only this variety, picked up at the last stop in the Canary Islands, survived the long journey. The grapes are harvested in the first week of March. Whole bunches undergo carbonic maceration. After pressing and fermentation, the must is de-skinned and de-stemmed. Pinot Gris lees are then added to the wine, and bâtonnage is regularly performed during aging, enhancing its volume and structure.
