Interesting Facts
The name "Serra della Contessa" was first mentioned in 1474 in a notarial document written in Latin. Now he is wearing one of the best wines of Etna DOC, which is created from a mix of the two most common grape varieties in the area of the volcano - Nerello Maskaleze and Nerello Cappuccio. The vineyards are located on the eastern slope of the mountain in the community Viagrande at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. The youngest vines are about 80 years old. With proper storage, the wine "Serra della Contessa" continues its development in the bottle and over the years becomes more mature and dense.
