Interesting Facts
The Nerello Mascalese grape variety grows on the southeastern slope of Mount Etna, at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. The average age of the vines is 12 years. The harvest is harvested by hand in late September - early October. After destemming, the berries are placed in stainless steel tanks for 21 days for maceration and fermentation. After this, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, and then in stainless steel vats. Before going on sale, the wine is aged for an additional 10 months in bottles in the winery's cellars.
