Interesting Facts
Chenin Blanc vines were planted in 1956 on the border of Paarl and Stellenbosch. These are areas with southern exposure, gentle slopes on soils of decomposed granite. After harvest, the grapes are cooled overnight and pressed in whole bunches. Spontaneous and malolactic fermentation takes place in old 600 liter Stockinger barrels, where the wine is then aged for a further 10 months before bottling.
