Knewitz

The Knewitz family has been involved in winemaking since the end of the 19th century. However, it was Gerold Knewitz (the father of the current winemakers) who first began bottling wine on the estate in 1976. Today, brothers Tobias and Björn Knewitz work in the family vineyards in the north of Rheinhessen and represent a new generation of ambitious winemakers in the region.

The estate is located near the town of Appenheim. This place is characterized by a high content of carbonate coral limestone in the soil and cooler weather. Work in the vineyards is carried out without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides - mainly using organic methods. The estate is a member of the Vereinigung Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen winemakers' association. Thanks to the inspired and highly professional work of the Knewitz brothers, the estate has received recognition from many critics. Since December 2021, the estate has been a member of the VDP association.
