The wine has a bright cherry red color.
Taste:
The palate is medium-bodied, with bright fruity and spicy notes. The tannin structure is silky. Fresh, noticeable acidity perfectly balanced. In the aftertaste, fruit tones, tones of aging and toast replace each other.
Aroma:
Rich aromas of black forest berries, cherries, and rose hips are supported by delicate tones of aging: cloves, undergrowth, moss, as well as restrained tones of toasted toast.
Gastronomy:
Can be served with fried duck breast with red cabbage, as well as stewed meat dishes.
Interesting Facts
The sites on which the old and young vines of Shpetburgunder grow are growing on the slopes of the vineyards of St. Laurenzkapelle in Gau-algesheim and Schlossberg in Ingelheim. Soils here with a high concentration of limestone. The harvest occurs at the end of September. Maceration and spontaneous fermentation take place in open large oak vats, and excerpt in old, large oak barrels and new barrics for 15 months.
